AI Agents and Skills to Boost UX Research.Using AI to refocus our time on what matters most.
UX Research
The main goals of a UX Research function are to deliver insights and clarity. Every tool, method, and resource should be put to work to deliver stronger insights, leading to extreme clarity on product strategy.
The ProblemAI agents and skills can accelerate research tasks, yet much of the data requires a high level of confidentiality. Letting an AI model read confidential transcripts introduces major risks.
Development Process
At Hello Insight, we used Obsidian to build an insights repository from scratch. We needed a flexible tool to track foundational and emerging insights for our products. See a sample template here.
As the number of insights in the repository rapidly increased, maintaining and organizing them became significantly more time-consuming and complex, impacting our efficiency.
I leveraged the initial repository structure (Markdown documents linked to each other) to test local agents and skills using Ollama. Local agents run on your machine and don’t send data to third-party providers, which makes them ideal to work with sensitive and confidential data.
After mapping frequent repository maintenance tasks, I built an agent to help junior researchers increase efficiency through 3 skills: 1) reviewing insights to boost clarity, 2) detecting overlapping insights, and 3) communicating insights for C-suite or senior stakeholders.
